IV. Out West 2012 - Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes from Plummer to Harrison
August 8, 2012: We were transported by our tour company in the morning from Coeur d'Alene to Plummer, Idaho -- the starting point of the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes. The starting point was also the site of a commemoration of the Steptoe Battle (a.k.a. the Battle of Pine Creek). The trail took us along the shore of Lake Coeur d'Alene and across the Chatcolet Bridge. We concluded the day's trip in Harrison, Idaho. Our bed & breakfast was the Wild Boar Inn (a.k.a. the Corskie House) which overlooked the lake.
Please note how hazy the sky looks in some of these photographs. The haziness apparently was smoke from nearby forest fires. Nobody we spoke to seemed too concerned about this -- apparently they were used to it. You will see several other hazy skies throughout this series of photographs.
